As I See It - UK

This page was set up as a reaction to the continuing Westminster shennannigans to obstruct the result of the 2016 brexit referendum.

New second page.

It also includes short comments on other matters.

As I see it World.

Boris and Rishi should NOT resign over "Partygate"

Partygate. Two comments.

It occurs to me that:-

 A) Most of those present would already have had contact within number 10. Is it air conditioned?

B) Most, if not all would have been tested at the earlier events and also vaccinated at the time of the more recent events.

From the law. This seems to apply to persons from outside the location?

A direction under sub-paragraph (1) may, among other things, impose requirements about informing persons who may be planning to attend an event or gathering of its prohibition or any requirements or restrictions imposed in relation to the holding of it.

The key factor here is that the law did not apply to people who were already together in the same location - the workplace!

MP Michael Fabricant has just made the same points that I did. (12th April 2022) The Covid regulation was to forbid GATHERINGS. In such cases the disease could be spread. Almost all the "parties" referred to gleefully by Starmer etc were actually people who were ALREADY together for most of the day. They had NOT gathered from other locations. Apart from the fact that a drink at the end of a day is hardly a "party", the fact that the people had been in contact all of that working day means that the "spread Covid" factor does not come into play. That is what the law applied to.

Prince Andrew

See Here for the article.

To me it seems to undermine her current case.

Yes, underage sex is a crime. Unfortunate That age of consent is not uniform. Also I an concerned with a quote from the woman in question in 2001 to a friend.

The claims by Carolyn Andriano, who testified at Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial, will add pressure on the prince.

Andriano said she had asked Giuffre if she’d been to the palace. “And she said, ‘I got to sleep with him’. She didn’t seem upset about it. She thought it was pretty cool,’ Andriano recalled.

Comment on Covid vaccines.

These are aimed at reducing the severity of the disease. This has clearly been demonstrated by the drop in ICU and ventilator cases and the drop in deaths. Case rates overall are still high when new variants of concern crop up.

Vaccine myths and outright lies.

It is biologically impossible for mRNA to alter DNA as it is incapable of entering the nucleus.

The vaccines do NOT contain Graphene Oxide.

The vaccines do NOT make arms magnetic.

The vaccines do NOT contain anything which can be controlled or triggered by 5G signals.

EU DAFT DEMANDS.

The EU are being unrealistic. We have LEFT the EU. There is no reason on earth why we should adhere to ANY of their rules as we are now a totally separate country. Can they not get this through their thick skulls? They cannot foist their terms and conditions on non member countries! It may be reasonable for the UK to still follow (and probably decide to exceed) some existing standards, but NOT to accept ANY they choose to change for whatever reason. That is simply crazy.

History can't be changed by current "WOKE" views. Are we the same as DAESH?

Yes. slavery was an impalatable practice imported to what is now the USA. It should be remembered though that the slaves were sold in many cases by members of their own racial group or by "Arab" slave traders from countries with a long history of it. The British and other nationality traders likely did not originally trade there with such trading in mind, and were encouraged by some parts of what is now USA and elsewhere. Slaves had also been a feature in Roman and Greek society.

Ban "Rule Brittania"

A suggestion has been made that "Rule Brittania" should not be sung at The Last Night of The Proms. Sorry, "Wokeists" you can get lost on that one!

Destroying statues etc.

This, to my mind is counter productive and solves nothing. Many were erected to reflect on the good deeds done by the subject, albeit in many cases with cash raised by questionable practices in today's views. If the statues were not there, would the good deeds be forgotten? Plinth plaques should inform about all the done deeds.

Sins of the father.

There is talk of removal of a Gladstone statue, "because he did not do enough to condemn what his father did". Similarly Robert Peel, the founder of the English police! Sorry Wokers. those arguments do not wash in my opinion.

Covid-19

Solo recital from Milan. Andrea Bocelli. Superb!

Boris Johnson after Covid-19

The Dominic Cummings affair.

This was not handled well, allowing for press distortion in my opinion.

Many people disliked the man over Brexit and his opinions on some aspects of Government before this storm blew up. He was seen running from number 10, but nobody at the time knew why. Several of those at number 10, including Boris were showing signs of the virus either at the time or shortly afterwards. It was announced that he and several others including Boris were isolating. Late last week it was reported that he had been seen at Barnard Castle and another location some 260 miles from London. He did not quickly explain why this had happened, and other false sightings were also reported.

The first, unclear part explanation.

The initial response, lacking detail, was that his wife was ill and he felt that he too could have been at risk, and that his son was at risk, were both of them to fall ill. He took the decision to drive to the three family properties in Co Durham in order to both isolate and have access to help from two young family members, NOT his parents. There was no clear explanation for the "sightings", but a suggestion that some were not, in fact true.

The press conference. Here full explanation and timeline was given, but the reporter repeated questions seemed to ignore much of it.

At no point in all of this was Mr Cummings in contact with other persons.

The run from Downing Street was to see his wife, who improved slightly. Knowing that several at #10 were affected and fearing he and his wife could both be unable to take care of his son, with no available childcare they drove that evening to the family property in County Durham. There they had a SEPARATE property at their disposal, where they could securely isolate away from his parents, but with support of two young female relatives. On one occasion the child was unwell and was taken to hospital by ambulance. In the absence of a taxi Mr Cummings drove to the hospital to collect the child, but stayed in the car. They also walked outside the house on the family property for a short while. At the end of the isolation period they decided to consider returning to London. As a precaution they did a short test drive to near Barnard Castle where all three spent a short time outside the car and were seen. At no point were they close to other people. They had to stop on the way back when the child needed a toilet break, where they were again seen in the woods.

The disease.

Early evidence?

China delayed warning by 6 days.

There was no natural immunity to this disease as the virus is completely new. It is one of the coronavirus group which includes Influenza. Initially there was no understanding of the virulence, the incubation period or of its ability to survive outside a host and the duration of survival if any.

The fact that virulence was an unknown factor led to the initial lockdown un the Hubei province of China and particularly in Wuhan. With hindsight, this should have included TOTAL restriction of air travel from there or at least quarantining any persons travelling from there for the incubation period of 14 days once this became known.

The rigid lockdown in China appears to have eliminated the virus in the environment. Also in New Zealand the blocking of entry to the country without quarantine has had the same result.

Tolerance of different age groups to the virus.

Testing for the infection itself was possible and it became evident that different levels of illness was present in individuals and in age groups. It also seemed possible that some people were asymptomatic, but at the same time carriers of the disease. Accurate testing for these individuals is still not widely available if at all. This is VITAL for ongoing strategy, not as total tests, but as tests per 100,000 of a population. Donald Trump doesn't seem to know the difference!

What to do next?

FIND OUT who has had the virus and act accordingly.

A point to consider as that there are 3 virus strains according to Cambridge research. ( see next panel)

The clearest strategy is to test the bulk of the population to find out how many have been affected with a mild case, or without showing symptoms. Several sources in the USA are advocating lifting isolation without this evidence, but claiming there is already a high enough number infected with mild or asymptomatic cases. VERY DANGEROUS!

Children and younger age groups appear to be much less affected. Testing all children for antibody and/or antigen presence would seem a good idea. Similarly for teachers, support staff and childcare personnel. If they prove to have had the disease, then schooling could resume (preferably without the school run though)

Similarly test the up to 20 or 30 age groups next, and again if the majority (over 90%) have had it, consider releasing them from the lockdowns. This could then be carried on to other age groups.

The different strains. Does that mean different vaccines or tests?

New Scientist.

The Cambridge Study. The team used data from virus genomes sampled from across the world between 24 December 2019 and 4 March 2020. The research revealed three distinct “variants” of COVID-19, consisting of clusters of closely related lineages, which they label ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’.

5G

It is claimed that 5g "Sucks oxygen away"

FAKE NEWS!

See this post.

Fact check.

The actual case is that oxygen attenuates and reduces the range of the 5G signal. This is why it needs so many towers. It may also explain why mobile phones need to put out a stronger signal to reach the masts. I don't think many users will be streaming from phones with them very close to the head.

WHO on the pandemic.

What was said in China in early January.

UK Lockdown

It is obvious that this has to continue. In Wuhan they kept it in force till the death rate and infection rate neared zero. We are currently nowhere near this. The only way to change this is to find out how many people have had the disease. The current tests are being tested, but many are proving to be unreliable. Hopefully this will be resolved very soon.

Boris.

It seems to me that once he realised that his symptoms were not clearing he should have hospitalised earlier and taken an MRI scan. It lost time. I wish him all the best for a rapid recovery, but he must NOT overdo it.

UK Lockdown

This has to be done more thoroughly. Too many absolute plonkers are flouting it too often. The rates are coming down, but those breaking social distancing are undermining it. A medical centre is opening on the Middleton TESCO EXPRESS car park, less than 2 miles from me.

Wuhan success.

The city of Wuhan and the region were first to be infected and first to be locked down. China has been far more ruthless in lockdown than any Western country, including the UK where a number of idiots are flouting it. It is now clear, as I said, that the virus CANNOT survive where its host population is absent. We MUST do the lockdown better. To hit 100 % for about 2 weeks should kill off the virus almost totally.

Do as he says!

March 29th. An incredible thing happened! I actually agree with Tony Blair on something. Also with Jeremy Hunt as well. The UK needs to test almost all the population to find out if the majority have had a mild or unseen infection. That will show what further needs to be done in the absence (currently) of a vaccine. This is critical in the lack of information as to whether the virus could become seasonal or not.

March 15th 2020. The last Government position was suggesting the UK should aim at building "herd immunity". This would imply allowing about 60% to actually catch the virus, but at a reduced rate. Scientifically that approach would work, but with one major problem

Those with pre-existing conditions would be very vulnerable, as would people of pension age, myself included. Critics of this have emerged in force and the FA have made a pre-emptive move by suspending the entire Football season. We do not call it "soccer" here, despite what the NFL supporters keep banging on about.

Trump has banned flights from here and the rest of Europe. We have also moved to restrict Americans coming here. The USA position internally is very untrustworthy, partly as a result of their fragmented private healthcare system appearing to be coping with the situation.

It is probably too late for travel restrictions to be very effective.

Trump strikes again!

The World Trade Organization is set to plunge into the biggest crisis in its 25-year history later this week as the climax to a long-running and bitter dispute means the Geneva-based body will cease to be able to settle disputes between its member states.

Unless Donald Trump backs off at the last minute and agrees to a peace plan, Washington’s protracted battle to safeguard US sovereignty will lead to the neutering of the WTO’s ability to police global trade.

This could affect UK trade negotiating with the EU next year.

However, hopes are fading that the US will agree to a blueprint drawn up by a senior diplomat in Geneva that would keep the WTO’s appellate body – the ultimate arbiter of trade disputes – operating beyond the 11 December deadline.

The Corbyn money trees. Buying student votes?

At the last election Corbyn was popular for amongst other things, his promise on tuition fees. That captured enough student votes to win several Tory seats. Subsequently it turned out that the promise was only an aspiration. Currently the same promise has been trotted out and "momentum" has been busy getting more youngsters with no experience of how the Labour policies caused damage last time to register. This could cost the Conservatives seats. A hung parliament would be another disaster. Voting for Boris is the best option by far.

Farage the "Clean Brexit" man.

We do NOT want "No Deal" or a Corbyn coalition!

What he really means here is a "No Deal" Brexit, which he was not seeking last time round if I remember correctly. The Brexit party poll rating has dropped by half. It's time he woke up and smelled the coffee. He should NOT be splitting the Brexit vote, especially as the minor parties have a pact to defeat the Brexit referendum result by tactical withdrawals. Don't go and lose us Brexit Nigel!

Corbyn's student loans offer repeated?

Jeremy was offering a version of this on the last manifesto, but then dropped it after taking the votes. With all his other expensive proposals it seems very likely that it will go the same way.

Do we really want a 9 month delay * and TWO more referenda?

*at LEAST!

Despite the deal having been accepted by Parliament, Corbyn wants to tear it up and negotiate another deal in 9 months! In my opinion Scotland is better in the UK, rather than negotiating with the EU for entry, with both the Euro and a new Scotland England border! It will not be getting "Westmister" cash either!

So, we now have a deal accepted by Parliament and the EU. Why the hell is Parliament not debating it? Most of it is the same as the deal they have already debated to death! It doesn't need to have "customs union" tacked onto it. That would prevent us doing deals with other countries. It doesn't need a "peoples vote" tacking onto it. We already had the referendum.

The biased speaker John Bercow goes this week. But for his plainly obstructive tactics I feel we would be out of the EU by now. I suspect he and red Jeremy will feature on a number of bonfires on the 5th, as, I suppose will Boris in "remainer" areas.

Corbyn wanted an election for years, but now won't vote for one making "no deal" option an excuse. The only reason there is a need for that option is HIS resistance to ANY deal the government would reach. The current deal got through because some of his MPs defied his "whip" to vote for it,

As for the "Liberal Democrats". They would tear up the original referendum and revoke Article 50. Totally undemocratic!

Also the Scottish Nationalists. Blackford claims Scotland voted to remain. Well on that argument, so did London! The referendum covered the WHOLE UK. A majority of 4% was lo leave. There is no scope for remain areas to stay in! He wants to joinn EU as a separate state - Er Sign up to the Euro and lose fishing rights. The process would take years! Also all the funding from Westminster would STOP.

Also the DUP. They say the deal drives coach and horses through the Good Friday agreement (GFA). David Trimble who drew up the GFA clearly states that it does not. The deal can work. They should withdraw the objections.

Remoaners are kicking up a great fuss about the decision by Boris to ask for a longer prorogation of Parliament than the 3 week gap for the party conference season. It makes about 5 days difference. It was a reaction to the continuing obstruction by Parliament to the opinions expressed by the electorate with a near 4% majority in the 2016 referendum. This has been aided and abetted at every turn by a non neutral speaker who has "bent the rules" repeatedly.

So the Supreme Court has nullified prorogation. This with one party conference in session and another to start this weekend. Parliament does not run as normal during the conference season. MP's are not gifted with bilocational properties! The remoaners are, of course delighted now that biased Speaker Bercow will be able to interfere again. The EU will also be delighted and less willing to shift their negotiating position.

Parliament has done everything to frustrate the democratic decision of the electorate in the 2016 referendum (almost 4% margin in favour of exit). Comments today refer to another extension, removing the "no deal" option and a further "people's vote" -on the "May deal" or to remain. Bercow has said "Parliament will sit from 11:30 tomorrow. Should be a remoaner festival!

Parliament voted to allow a referendum on EU membership. They should NOT be obstructing the result!

Parliament voted for the Brexit referendum by a big margin.

All parties agreed to abide by the result, which did not have a "wafer thin" margin. 4% is not a wafer. Why then are they unable to allow a deal to pass?

The current fuss is being stirred up by "remoaners" using inflammatory language such as "stop the coup" which is totally miss representing the situation. Corbyn's "momentum" group are agitators pressing for a minority within the Labour party and Corbyn is losing support from the electorate.

Speaker Bercow, who is SUPPOSED to be impartial claims the latest move by Boris is "constitutional outrage". He has been biased against brexit in most of the Parliamentary debates and has ignored some procedures.

Corbyn is an opportunist and has flip flopped many times over Brexit.

A ComRes opinion poll showed 54 per cent of respondents said they agreed with the statement: "Boris (Johnson) needs to deliver Brexit by any means, including suspending parliament if necessary, in order to prevent MPs (Members of Parliament) from stopping it."

Jacob Rees-Mogg hit out at Bercow after he said the PM caused “constitutional outrage” for getting the Queen to approve his shutdown of Parliament. The Brexiteer MP said "the most constitutionally improper thing that happened yesterday" was the Speaker's intervention.

He added: "Parliament wasn't going to be sitting for most of this time anyway. This is completely constitutional and proper."

"Vaxxers" are totally misled by Andrew Wakefield, Robert Kennedy and others. There is NO proved link to autism (MMR) or to cancer (HPV). Both MMR and HPV vaccines are major successes, and scare tactics on social media are causing both Mumps and Measles cases to rise considerably.

VOTE BORIS.

One look at the 1970's economics was enough!

Boris won. Time to stop the chanting and banner waving.

The graphic above clearly shows at least two things:- 1. the number bought by the students loan offer (18-34) and 2. the different way those who had experienced the '70's (when Labour used very similar policies and failed miserably) voted.
